808 Diode Laser Hair Removal Machine Application:
How does laser hair removal machine work?
808nm wavelength Diode laser hair removal penetrates into the dermis, and is absorbed by the targeted melanin in the hair follicles. This will form enough thermal energy to destroy the targeted follicular epithelium because of the laser-induced photothermal effect. In contrast, the surrounding skin tissue is spared due to lack of mela- nin. This way, the surrounding skin remains intact, while the hair follicles are selectively affected, which leads to non-invasive permanent hair laser removal.
Exposure to pulses of laser light

Before

The melanin absorbs the light and heats up

After
1. Hair Removal, Skin Tightening;
2. Widely used for any color hair;
3. Widely used for any skin type;
4. Removel Area: Lip Hair, Beard, Chest Hair, Armpit Hair, Back Hair, Arm Hair, Leg Hair, Unwanted Hair outside the Bikini Line.
Advantages and Features of hair removal laser machines:
1.Stable high output power diode laser bars. More assured the mechanism performance, clinical re- sults, and safety.
2.More than 20,000,000 shots ensure longer life time than other hair removal machine.
3.Strong Sapphire contact cooling system can make momentary epidermal anesthesia,no any painless dur- ing , in creases comfort during treatment
4.Excellent treatment result can be expected at the first treatment and suitable to all types of hair
5.Adjustable long laser pulse width

What are the energy requirements of laser hair removal devices?
The energy requirements of laser hair removal devices depend mainly on the type of device, the characteristics of the target hair, the skin type, and the specific needs of the treatment area. Here are some key points about the energy requirements of laser hair removal devices:
1. Fluence
- Definition: Fluence is measured in joules per square centimeter (J/cm²) and represents the amount of energy released by the laser per unit area.
- Typical range:
- For different skin types (Fitzpatrick skin types I-VI):
- Light skin (types I-III): 10-40 J/cm²
- Dark skin (types IV-VI): 8-20 J/cm² (lower energy is required to avoid skin damage)
- The specific energy setting depends on the color, thickness, and density of the hair. For example, thick and dark hair generally requires higher energy, while thin and light hair requires lower energy.
- Adjustment basis: The device adjusts the energy based on the light absorption characteristics of the skin and hair (such as melanin content) to ensure effective destruction of hair follicles while avoiding burning the skin.
2. Pulse Duration
- Definition: The duration of the laser pulse, measured in milliseconds (ms), determines the speed of energy transfer.
- Typical range:
- Short pulse (3-10 ms): Suitable for light skin and fine hair.
- Long pulse (10-100 ms): Suitable for dark skin or coarse hair, can reduce epidermal thermal damage.
- Selection basis: The pulse time needs to match the thermal relaxation time (TRT) of the hair follicle, which is usually between 10-100 ms.
3. Wavelength
- Lasers of different wavelengths have an impact on energy absorption and penetration depth. Common laser types include:
- 755 nm (Alexandria laser): Suitable for light skin, better absorption of hair melanin, and medium energy requirements.
- 810 nm/808nm (diode laser): Suitable for a variety of skin types, moderate energy requirements, and deeper penetration.
- 1064 nm (Nd:YAG laser): suitable for dark skin, with lower energy requirements but strong penetration.
- The wavelength determines how the energy is absorbed by the hair follicles and skin, affecting the energy setting.
4. Cooling system
- Laser hair removal devices are usually equipped with a cooling system (such as contact cooling, cold spray or cold air) to protect the skin.
- The cooling effect affects the energy setting: effective cooling allows the use of higher energy while reducing the risk of thermal damage to the skin.
5. Device power
- The peak power of laser devices is usually between 300 watts and 5000 watts, depending on the device design.
- Home laser hair removal devices have low power (usually <100 W, energy density 5-10 J/cm²), while professional devices (such as those used in hospitals or beauty salons) have laser powers of up to kilowatts and energy densities as high as 300J/cm².
6. Other influencing factors
- Treatment area: Hair density and skin sensitivity vary in different areas. For example, the underarms may require higher energy (15-30 J/cm²), while the face may require lower energy (10-20 J/cm²).
- Number of treatments: Multiple treatments are usually required (4-8 times), and the energy of each treatment may be gradually adjusted according to the hair reduction.
- Patient tolerance: The energy setting needs to consider the patient's pain tolerance. Too high energy may cause discomfort or side effects.
7. Safety and side effects
- Too high energy may cause burns, pigmentation or scarring, especially on dark skin.
- Too low energy may be ineffective and fail to destroy hair follicles.
- Professional operators will determine the appropriate energy level through test spots.
8. Home devices vs Professional devices
- Home devices: such as Philips Lumea, Tria, etc., the energy density is usually 5-10 J/cm², which is suitable for safe use but the effect is slow.
- Professional equipment: such as Candela GentleLase, Cynosure Elite, Superlaser, Boslaser, etc., the energy density can reach 40 J/cm² or higher, and requires professional operation.
